Chapter 1: The Beginning of It All.
The ancient tale about this orphanage has been going around from generation to generation in Lockwood Village. Its real name is ‘Little Miracles Orphanage’ although, due to its spine-chilling stories; it’s more commonly called ‘Unearthly Orphanage’ as well as many others.
It goes a little something like this…
On a typical day, Ms. Laura; the owner and founder of the orphanage was scheduling meetings with parents in order for kids to find great families and lives. But little did she know that it would take an unexpected turn.
Ten kids were living in Little Miracles Orphanage; some little, some big. A seven-year-old girl named Katrina Williams was one of the very lucky ones to get adopted! A married couple who did not have any children wanted to adopt her. Ms. Laura was delighted that one of the kids could find happiness in their lives as she had a very kind heart, along with a beautiful face; golden brown eyes, and a sleek body. However, Katrina had other ideas.
Her gut was telling her to slowly back away from her new parents. She had a bad feeling about this decision; so she whispered in Ms. Laura’s ear, saying that she wanted to stay. Unfortunately, she declined and explained to her that she had nothing to worry about and that her life was going to be a whole lot better now! Katrina was still having second thoughts but was forced to leave as her parents had already finished the paperwork.
Ms. Laura said her last goodbye to Katrina and that was the last she saw of her…
Or so she thought. Katrina realized that she had made an irreversible decision as soon as the door closed behind her. And it was a terrible mistake…
Chapter 2: The Terror Begins.
It had not been long since Katrina’s leave and Ms. Laura had not thought much about it. Just as she was putting all the kids to bed, she heard the sound of glass breaking and rushed downstairs to check all the windows. The window near the entrance was completely obliterated. Although she was far away from the window, she could clearly see that a body and shattered glass were present on the floor.
She gasped in shock after witnessing this sight. While trying to figure out what had happened, she saw Katrina lying unconscious on the floor; that’s not all! She had many wounds, cuts, and injuries. On an even worse note, she wasn’t breathing either! Ms. Laura called one of the staff members to help her and it’s a good thing she did!
The one she called was a medical professional, hired specifically for these reasons. She was also shocked at how this could have happened but she regrettably concluded that it was a lost cause and that Katrina was no more.
Ms. Laura could not take the thought that one of her little girls from the orphanage had been lost; therefore, she fainted right there on the ground. A short while later, she woke up in the middle of the night on her bed. It was raining heavily outside and she got up to drink some water when she tripped over something. And it was definitely not a toy that she tripped on.
She turned around to see once more, Katrina’s body; just as it was, injuries and all! But in her room instead. She obviously remembered seeing her body downstairs near the entrance, so how did she get up here?! Suddenly, Katrina stood up, still bleeding, and said, “You sent me to the wrong place… they did this to me; IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT!” She then proceeded to explain that her parents had killed her and that she never should have been with that wretched family, to begin with.
Ms. Laura couldn’t believe her eyes! Trembling, she said, “W-What happened to your parents then?” Katrina replied that she gave them what they deserved; which was the sweet, sweet embrace of death. She was now a terrible ghost that had come to haunt the orphanage she once loved.
But this wasn’t the end of Katrina…
Chapter 3: The Real Ending Of The Haunted Orphanage.
Ms. Laura tried to apologize and convince her to stop her terror but it only got worse. Within the swiftness of a second; she ended Ms. Laura just as quickly as she ended her parents. She got what she wanted, which was vengeance but her soul was still trapped in her orphanage. She craved more, much more.
She had become a ghost consumed with death and destruction, and wouldn’t let anyone get in the way of that. However, she slowly but surely had a change of heart when she learned that she was not alone and that more kids had been sent to seemingly nice people; but it was their demise. So, just like Katrina; they too were haunting their once-inhabited orphanage.
Soon, Katrina figured out that the sweet and cheerful orphanage was also the home of many ghosts who had done the same as her. This backstory about the orphanage convinced her that she should not have killed Ms. Laura.
Although there was no way to go back and forgive her; as she deeply regretted what she had done, she still watched and protected the leftover kids that were yet to be adopted. And so did the others since the day they perished. After their revenge, of course.
They all made sure they went to gleeful families and took care of them. The children knew that the ghosts existed but were not scared of them as they were the new owners of Little Miracles Orphanage. They talked, laughed, and even ate with them!
Sadly, due to the horrific rumors being spread about this place, the original happy ending to this story was never discovered and the orphanage of Lockwood Village; for the civilians, always remained haunted, as they did not know the story deep within.
